Hi, I'm Jaiye.

Jaiye’s Room is a private natural-hair styling experience centered on moisture, gentle handling, and styles that respect the hair underneath them.

My approach is moisture first.

I prioritize moisture, gentle handling, and techniques that support your natural hair—not just the finished look. Products are selected based on your hair, scalp, and desired finish, with a preference for conditioning creams and soft, flexible hold. I don’t rely on heavy gels, drying products, or excessive tension to force the hair into submission.

The goal is a beautiful style that respects the hair underneath it—and hair that still feels like hair.

Braid + Twist

Cornrows in the front paired with two-strand twists in the back for a soft natural style with body, movement, and an easy finish.

Two-Strand Twists

Classic twists styled to complement your natural texture and density, with an emphasis on moisture, body, and a soft finish that wears beautifully over time.

Kiko · African Hair Threading

Kiko is a traditional African hair-threading technique with roots in Yoruba culture. Brazilian wool is used to wrap and shape the hair into a beautiful sculptural finish while helping stretch the hair, seal in moisture, and support length retention.

Three-Strand Plaits

Individual three-strand plaits created using your natural hair only, with medium or large parts. This style provides more structure and hold than two-strand twists while keeping the scalp accessible.

No two heads of hair need exactly the same products, technique, or finish. I work with your hair as it is—considering its texture, density, condition, scalp, and your preferences before deciding what the style needs.

The result is neat and intentional without sacrificing softness, comfort, or the natural character of your hair.

A beautiful style should never come at the expense of the hair underneath it.

Before You Book

What about timing and appointment policies?

The expected service time is shown when you book. Please review the cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, and no-show policies in Square before completing your reservation.

Is my hair long enough?

Your hair should be at least 4 inches long when stretched in the areas being styled. Base pricing and appointment times apply to hair up to shoulder length when stretched.

Hair extending below the shoulders or requiring additional time because of density may incur an added fee. Please send clear, current photos before booking so I can confirm the appropriate service time and price. Your natural length, density, condition, and shrinkage will influence the finished look.

How should I prepare my hair?

Please arrive with your hair freshly washed, thoroughly detangled, completely dry, and stretched or blow-dried. Leave-in conditioner is welcome, but please avoid heavy oils, grease, gel, or other styling products.

If your hair needs light moisture when you arrive, I may mist it and apply an appropriate moisturizer or styling cream before styling.

Is washing or blow-drying included?

Washing, detangling, and blow-drying are not included unless a preparation add-on is listed and selected when you book. If your hair is not ready to style, the appointment may need to be adjusted or rescheduled.

Where are appointments held?

Appointments are private and one-on-one in Northwest Houston (77065). The exact location and arrival instructions will be included with your booking confirmation. Please arrive alone unless another arrangement has been approved in advance.
